Soaring high over the beautiful harbour in the heart of the English Riviera at Torquay, the wheel is situated within the famous Pavilion Gardens, next to The Princess Theatre, enjoying amazing views of the town and harbour.
The English Riviera Wheel is completely silent in operation incorporating the latest in observation wheel technology and design. A trip on the wheel takes approximately 12 minutes.
Step into one of the wheel’s gondolas and be transported into the air. Gaze out over the skyline and see the surrounding area with a wonderous view in every direction. Fun, thrills, geography and history – all rolled into one!
With breath-taking 360 degree views almost 100ft above The Princess Gardens. The Wheel offers a birds eye view of the English Riviera overlooking Torquay Harbour from a rare perspective. A ride on the Wheel is the perfect location for a special day out for everyone.

Meadfoot Beach is a 5 minute drive and a 15 minute walk from the Harbourside Inn. The coastal path is well worth taking past the Imperial hotel entrance, on to Daddyhole Plain and then down to Meadfoot.
This beach has two sides, the nearest to Torquay is dog free in the summer and has a great cafe standing proud over the beach and looking out to sea past Shag Rock to Brixham and past Thatcher Rock to Lyme Bay.
One of the favourite beaches for locals you will see plenty of people kayaking, fishing, paddle boarding or just sunning themselves. With a diving/sport shop next to the cafe and an Ice Cream van at the other end of the beach, all food requirements are met. The toilets are also behind the cafe.
The beach is a combination of sand and small rocks, depending on the previous week or twos’ weather. This is a favourite place to watch bad weather and storm surges as the waves break over the high sea walls in the right conditions. Further out the seabed is rocky and is a popular divers training ground.
There are two car parks at either end and if you are quick enough, road parking between the two beach ends as well.
4.) Kents Cavern
Kents Cavern is a well-preserved grotto system located 1.3 miles northeast of Torquay Harbour. Here you can see impressive stalagmite and stalactite formations that are over 400 million years old, as well as prehistoric tools and fossilised remains of animals dating back to the last ice age. Guided tours are available every day between 10.30 am and 4 pm.
If you’re a fan of horror, Kents Cavern has an evening ghost tour which runs for about 45 minutes on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Note that this tour is only offered during the summer. It is recommended to choose your hotel accommodation situated close-by to Kents Cavern, if you're interested in taking the night tour.
